Piranah- Orchestrated Noise

Welcome to your first review! Well, actually, it'd be mine, but you're the one reading it.

First off, let me give you a little background on Piranah and how they got started.

Piranah is a veteran band from Nashville, TN, that was founded in 1993 by guitarist Matt Seckinger. Soon after, Darren Andrews became the lead vocalist for the band and has remained the band's front man ever since. After having many lineup changes over the years, drummer Chris Higgins and bassist Thorin Milliken completed this revitalized version of the band in late 2006.

Ok, NOW it's time for the album.

With the name Orchestrated Noise, what comes to mind? Well, whatever pre-thoughts you have about it, throw those away. Why? To answer your question, this album rocks!! It will blow you away on how versatile these guys can be!

The first song off of the album is called Stupidity (Is Not An Asset.) It's one of those songs where you feel like you need to be in a mosh pit. Or, if mosh pits aren't your thing, you can just put the song on in your car and turn it up full volume!!!

Now, skip down to number 4 on the album... and that's called Possess The World. This has to be one of my favorite songs! It's not your normal underground metal song that has alot of hate to it. It actually has meaning behind the lyrics... really listen to it. The riffs on this song is just EXCELLENT! Honestly, in my opinion, they truly need to contact the makers of Guitar Hero and put this song on there. Not only would they be famous, fans would be able to appreciate exactly how hard it is to do the riffs you just learned. So guys, this song is A+!

The next 3 songs are kick ass. Let's start with the first of the 3, shall we?? That song would be the album's namesake- Orchestrated Noise. If you're not used to Piranah's style, this one can throw you off... but don't let it. These guys know how to get your butt in gear. If you want something to jog to and head bang at the same time, this song can do that for you.

The next song of the 3 is called Face In The Crowd. It's not the fast song that you're used to hearing- it has a slow theme to it. However, the meaning to the song is haunting and speaks the truth. Now, it means different things to different people, but if you really listen to it, you'll know why I love this song. One lyric in the song really speaks out to anyone who wants to make it big: "Sinking down to rise above the inner depths through skies I ride. To take the place of all who's proud. I'm not just a face in the crowd." Sit back and think about that while we talk about our next song.

Distortion is the last of the 3. I have joked with the lead singer, Darren Andrews, that this is a good striptease or lap dance song. All jokes aside, this is another somewhat slow song. I must say, however, that this was my very first favorite Piranah song. I was able to hear it way before they even came out with the album. Then again, it was still in raw form. This song went above my expectations!

Orchestrated Noise has everything for everyone. It has fast riffs. It has songs that speak to you. It has songs that are playful in nature.

If you would like to check out the album for yourself and get a small preview before buying it, check Piranah out at Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/piranahrocks. Be sure to check out their previously released albums from earlier years!!
